JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto stated that taxes are an instrument of redistribution of state revenue, where rich citizens are required to pay taxes and the underprivileged (poor) are assisted.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo during a state speech in the context of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia at the 2025 MPR/DPR/DPD RI Annual Session, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday 15 August.

"Optimizing state revenues must be carried out consistently. Taxes are instruments for justice, for redistribution of income. Those who are rich in paying taxes, those who cannot be helped," he said, were confiscated by Antara.
