143 People's School Teachers Resign, Social Minister Gus Ipul: Everything Already Has A Replacement

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf said that his party had completed the process of replacing people's schools teachers who resigned.

"Alhamdulillah, it has been processed and there has been a replacement," said Saifullah Yusuf to reporters after attending the MPR Annual Session and the 2025 DPR and DPD Joint Session at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Friday, August 15.

This was conveyed in response to President Prabowo Subianto's state speech which offended the People's School at the annual session.

The Minister of Social Affairs, who is familiarly called Gus Ipul, emphasized that the Ministry of Social Affairs respects the decisions of teachers who have resigned. Previously, he said the number of People's School teachers who resigned reached 143 people.

The reasons for teachers to resign vary, ranging from school locations that are far from domicile to new placements as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

In his state speech, President Prabowo said the government had built 100 People's Schools to provide learning opportunities for children from underprivileged families. In the future, the number is targeted to increase to 300 schools.

People's School students are children from families with the lowest income.

The series of Annual Sessions of the MPR and Joint Sessions of the DPR and DPD 2025 were held ahead of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence with the theme "United Sovereign, People of Prosperous, Advanced Indonesia." President Prabowo arrived at the DPR/MPR Building at around 08.32 WIB to submit a report on the performance of state institutions and state speeches.
