Pati Residents Protest Strongly, Secretary General Of Gerindra Warns Regent Sudewo

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Gerindra Party, Sugiono, emphasized that he had given a warning to Regent Pati Sudewo not to take policies that burden the people. This statement was made after tens of thousands of Pati residents held a demonstration to protest against Sudewo's controversial policy, which is also a Gerindra cadre.

"As Secretary General of the Gerindra Party DPP, I have conveyed to the Regent of Sudewo to pay attention to the aspirations of the community so that the policies taken do not add to the burden on the people," he said, Wednesday, August 13.

Sugiono also reminded all regional heads from the Gerindra Party to carry out the message of General Chair Prabowo Subianto, namely prioritizing the interests of the community in every policy.

"Every policy must take into account its impact on the smallest people in their respective regions. Our party was born and big because of that struggle," he said.

Sugiono also directly monitored the progress of the action in Pati. He is grateful that the situation is now gradually conducive. "I thank all parties because the report I received this afternoon until tonight the situation has been conducive," he said.

Previously, about tens of thousands of people from the United Pati Community Alliance surrounded the Pati regent's office. They demanded that Sudewo resign because his policies were considered burdensome for the residents.
