Corruption Fugitive Rp8.57 Billion Procurement Of Practice Equipment For Jambi Vocational School Arrested In Bandung

JAMBI - The Jambi Police Ditreskrimsus Corruption Team arrested a fugitive WS on the wanted list (DPO) of alleged corruption cases in the procurement of vocational school tools at the Jambi Province Education Office (Disdik) which cost the state Rp8.57 billion in 2022.

"The Jambi Police Ditreskrimsus team assisted by the West Java Police managed to find and arrest WS who had been hiding in Bandung City, West Java on Wednesday (13/8)," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimsus) Jambi Police, Kombes Pol Taufik Nurmandia, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, August 14.

After being arrested in Bandung City, he said, WS was taken directly to Jambi by plane from Jakarta to Jambi for further inspection.

Taufik explained that the suspect WS as the owner of PT Indotec Lestari Prima (ILP) who acted as a sub provider of procurement packages for the project in Disdik Provincial was flown together with members from Jakarta through Soekarno Hatta airport at 21.15 WIB and arrived at Sultan Thaha Jambi Airport at 22.15 WIB.

"Arriving at Jambi Airport, the team immediately took him to the Regional Police Headquarters to be detained and examined by the investigative team to complete the case file," he said.

In this corruption case, said Taufik, WS was named a suspect in a corruption case along with three other people, namely RWS, ES and ZH who had already been detained by Ditreskrimsus investigators.

WS' involvement in this case is as the leader of PT ILP who borrowed an e-catalog account belonging to PT TDI to enter as a practice provider known as a click ride with an agreement to provide a fee of 10 percent of the contract value to ES.

"WS was named a suspect and was named in the Jambi Police DPO because he was still absent from the summons of the Regional Police investigators and while three other people had been detained at the Regional Police Headquarters," he said.

Taufik said that in the corruption case in the procurement of vocational school tools at the Jambi Education Office, there were additional new suspects. Previously there was only one suspect, now there are three more people, bringing the total number of suspects to four in this case.

Of the four suspects in the case, identified by the Jambi Police Corruption Investigators, three of them have been detained and one more suspect is in the DPO, namely the suspect WS because he was never present when summoned for questioning at the Jambi Regional Police.

The three new suspects are RWS who act as brokers or intermediaries between the supplier of goods and the Jambi Provincial Education Office (Disdik) where brokers ask for commissions to providers of 20 to 25 percent of the project value of Rp180 billion.

The suspect WS led by PT Indotec Lestari Prima (ILP) acts as a sub provider of goods that carries out five packages of procurement of principal vocational training equipment on orders from PT Tahta Djaja Internasional (TDI) orders.

"The role of WS is asking PT TDI for assistance in lending company accounts (passwords and id and input goods in the e-catalog storefront) or the language generally rides click with a commitment of 10 percent commission on the value of the contract/order letter for the five packages being carried out," he said.

Then for the suspect ES as the President Director of PT TJI who signed seven warrants then issued order orders of five packages to PT ILP, and WS which seemed to PT TDI ordered goods to PT IPL.

According to Taufik, the suspect WS in this case is subject to Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3, Article 18 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.

In the case of alleged corruption in the procurement of main practice equipment (PBK physical DAK) at the Jambi Provincial Education Office using the APBD for the 2022 fiscal year, according to him, the suspect was initially ZH as a Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the Development of SMK, whose case file has now been sent to the Prosecutor's Office in phase I. And on the instructions that the prosecutor has entered the P19 stage or is completed and by investigators has completed the prosecutor's instructions and will send back the case file from stage 1 to 2.

The suspects RWS and ES have been detained at the Jambi Police detention center since July 18, 2025, while the suspect WS as the leader of PT ILP has been fugitive and has been issued a DPO by the Jambi Police.
