JAKARTA - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has asked the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) to investigate victims of the negative impact of Roblox online games.
"We ask the Ministry of Komdigi to immediately follow up by conducting a thorough investigation of the victims," said KPAI Commissioner for Subcluster Child Victims of Pornography and Cyber Kawiyan, ANTARA, Monday, August 11, 2025.
Kawiyan said children who were victims of digital platforms or electronic systems (PSE) and online games experienced tremendous impacts both physically, psychologically, mentally and socially.
He said there were many children who were victims of the negative impact of online games, including because they did not play according to age classification, and there were people who used the game as a digital network for things that were against the law such as fraud, exploitation, cyberbullying, teaching violence and so on.
The negligence of the PSE in operating electronic systems also makes children more vulnerable to being victims.

Therefore, continued Kawiyan, the Ministry of Komdigi must conduct an investigation and find facts about children who are victims of negative impacts of the game both in terms of quantity/number and stage. Not only Roblox, but also other games.
"Because based on the law, those who have the authority to block are the Ministry of Komdigi," he said.
The sanctions or actions that the government can take through the Ministry of Communication and Digital are contained in Article 16B of the ITE Law, namely in the form of written warnings, administrative sanctions, temporary suspension, and termination of access.
Then, the ITE Law and Government Regulation no. 17 of 2025 concerning Governance of Electronic System Implementation in Child Protection or PP Tunas which is a derivative of the ITE Law regulates in detail the security procedures of each PSE to provide security and protection to children who use or access electronic systems.
"If a PSE does not carry out these obligations and ignores child safety and protection, then the PSE must be given sanctions. These sanctions can be in the form of blocking or permanent termination of access," he said.
The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has asked the government to block Roblox's online game if it is proven to have violated the law (UU) on children's rights in accordance with Law No.1 of 2024 concerning ITE.
Every digital platform or electronic system (PSE), including the Roblox game, has an obligation to provide protection to children who access or use PSE products, features or services.
