JAKARTA - The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Ankara said that no Indonesian citizens (WNI) were affected by the earthquake in Turkey on Sunday.

The earthquake, which according to Turkish AFAD disaster management authorities occurred at around 19:53 local time, was felt in several provinces, including the country's largest city, Istanbul.

AFAD said the quake occurred at a depth of 11 km (6.8 miles), while the German Geoscience Center (GFZ) recorded a magnitude of 6.19 and a depth of 10 km.

Minister of Home Affairs Yerlikaya said the dead were 81-year-olds who died after being rescued from the rubble by the emergency response team.

He said search and rescue operations had now been completed and there were no signs of serious damage or other casualties.
