Military Court Sentenced 3.5 Years In Prison And Pecat Peltu Yun Heri Lubis Regarding Lampung Chicken Savings Gambling

PALEMBANG - The Panel of Judges at the Military Court I-04 Palembang sentenced the defendant Peltu Yun Heri Lubis to three years and six months in prison.

He was declared proven proven to be the manager of the cockfighting gambling arena which was the location for the shooting of three police officers in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung.

The verdict was read out by Chief Justice Major CHK Kowad Endah Wulandari during a trial at the Palembang Military Court I-04, Monday, August 11.

"The defendant's actions were legally and convincingly proven to have committed a criminal act as stipulated in Article 303 of the Criminal Code paragraph 1 of the 1st junto Article 55 paragraph 1 of the 1st. Sentencing him to three years and six months in prison, reducing the detention period during the investigation process, as well as additional penalties in the form of dismissal from military service," Endah said as quoted by Antara.

The atmosphere of the courtroom was quiet when the verdict was read out in front of the families of the victims and the ranks of the TNI.

Peltu Yun Heri Lubis has seven days to declare that he accepts or appeals the decision.

After the trial, the panel of judges continued the trial of reading the verdict for another defendant in this case, namely Kopda Bazarsah.

This case began with a raid on the cockfighting gambling arena in Karang Manik Village, Way Kanan Regency, Lampung, on Monday, March 17, 2025. In that incident, three members of the National Police were shot dead by TNI soldiers, Kopda Bazarsah.

The three victims were the Head of the Batin State Police, Adjunct Commissioner of the Lusiyanto Police, Bintara Polsek Negara Batin Adjunct Inspector of Police Dua Anumerta Petrus Apriyanto, and Bintara Sat Reskrim Polres Way Kanan Brigadier Police Dua Anumerta M Ghalib Surya Ganta.

In addition to the shooting, the raid also revealed Peltu Yun Heri Lubis' involvement in managing cockfighting gambling at the location.
