President Prabowo Emphasizes The Importance Of Strong Defense In The Uncertain World

President Prabowo Subianto paid tribute at the Ceremony of the Military Operational and Honorary Forces at Suparlan Field, Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, Sunday 10 August 2025

BANDUNG President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia must have a very strong defense in the midst of increasingly uncertain world conditions.

He made this statement when giving a mandate at the Ceremony of the Military Operations and Honorary Forces at Suparlan Field, Pusdiklatpassus, Batujajar, Sunday, August 10.

Prabowo reminded young soldiers not to forget the history of the nation. He emphasized that Indonesia's past, once colonized, slaved, was even treated less than an animal by the invaders.

"Never forget your history. Therefore, our nation needs a strong army. No nation is independent without a strong army. I say once again, no nation is independent without a strong army," he explained.

Prabowo reminded that the world's challenges are now increasingly complex and uncertain, so many outsiders want to interfere with Indonesia's development.

"Every time we want to get up, we are disturbed. Every time we want to prosper our people, we are disturbed, our wealth is robbed, we are pitted against each other," he said.

"And for that, indeed we are strengthening our defense. We must defend our territory, we must defend our sovereignty, we must defend our wealth," he continued.

He then described the world situation full of uncertainty where war occurred at several points in the world.

"We see how a weak nation is treated. Parents, mothers, small children are massacred," he said.

Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia will not side with any block. Therefore, Indonesia needs to strengthen its defenses.

"Indonesia does not want to side with any block, but because of that, there is no other choice. Indonesia must have a very strong defense. And that's why today I inaugurated 6 new Kodam Commanders, 20 new Brigade Commanders, and 100 new Development Territorial Battalions," he concluded.

On this occasion, Prabowo conferred the Rank of the Honorary General, pinned the position of Deputy TNI Commander to General TNI Tandyo Budi Revita, and awarded the Rank of General of Honor to 10 recipients, the Honorary Sign of the Sakti Star to 2 recipients, and the Honorary Rank to 1 recipient who is considered to serve with high dedication and integrity.

This ceremony was also inaugurated and inaugurated by a number of new TNI units, including 6 Military Regional Commands, 14 Naval Regional Commands, 3 Air Force Regional Commands, 1 Air Operations Command, 6 Special Forces Command Groups, 20 Development Territorial Brigades, 1 Marine Infantry Brigade, 1 Pasgat Corps Regiment, 100 Development Territorial Battalions, 5 Marine Infantry Battalions, and 5 Battalions of Fast Action Forces Command.

In this troop title, the TNI deployed 27,384 personnel, supported by 152 tactical vehicles (Rantis) with 388 crew personnel, and 124 defense equipment consisting of 34 units belonging to the Indonesian Army, 24 units of the Indonesian Navy, and 66 units of the Indonesian Air Force.
