The Head of the Tanah Bumbu Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Sulhadi, stated in Batulicin on Saturday that the regional government has built 145 reservoirs in villages considered prone to forest and land fires.

According to Sulhadi, each reservoir has a water capacity of up to thousands of cubic meters, ensuring swift and optimal handling of forest and land fires.
To strengthen prevention and response, he continued, the Tanah Bumbu BPBD has asked village governments to prepare firefighting equipment, with the goal of having one fire extinguisher per village.
The Tanah Bumbu Regency Government also urges residents not to clear land by burning.
"South Kalimantan Governor Muhidin has declared a forest and land fire emergency alert status, and other regencies in South Kalimantan have also declared the same status," said Sulhadi.
Sulhadi revealed that there have been no significant cases in Tanah Bumbu to date, as the disaster management team is carrying out maximum efforts to handle and prevent forest and land fires.
The Tanah Bumbu Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has designated the districts of Batulicin, Satui, Simpang Empat, Kusan Tengah, Mantewe, Kusan Hulu, and Teluk Kepayang as areas with potential for forest and land fires.
