The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) of the Central Java Police revealed a network of counterfeit money makers and dealers who were troubling the public. Six suspects with different roles were arrested by officers while acting in the Boyolali area and at a house where counterfeit money was produced in Yogyakarta.

Furthermore, the suspects and the evidence were brought by officers to the Central Java Police's Mako Ditreskrimum.

"The mode they run is to produce counterfeit notes of Rp100,000 and sell them in a 1:3 ratio. This means that every Rp100 million counterfeit money sells for Rp30 million. From the search results, we found thousands of counterfeit bills in various stages of production, as well as complete equipment for printing," said Dwi Subagio.

He added that this syndicate has been operating since early June 2025 and has printed around 4,000 counterfeit notes, of which 150 are suspected to have circulated in the community.

Responding to this disclosure, the Head of the Central Java Province Bank Indonesia Representative, Rahmat Dwi Saputra, appreciated the performance of the Central Java Police Ditreskrimum officers who succeeded in arresting the perpetrators of syndicates of counterfeit money trafficking. "We ask the public to triple check the money they receive, namely through 3 D (Seen, Diraba, Ditewang). To account for his actions, the six suspects were charged with Articles 244 and 245 of the Criminal Code concerning making and circulating counterfeit money and Law Number 7 of 2011 concerning Currency, with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
