JAKARTA - Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin said Indonesia would not create a cyber dimension within the TNI, as Singapore has.
"Yes, we just need to collaborate, we don't have to make a new chief of staff," said Sjafrie when met at the Ministry of Defense office in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, August 5.
According to Sjafrie, each country has a different concept of defense. Unlike Singapore, the TNI has cyber units that are in each dimension.
Sjafrie emphasized that the concept adopted by the TNI is more appropriate for Indonesia because each dimension has the opportunity to involve cyber experts in strengthening defense.
"So Indonesia must be 'beaten up' by civilians and the military. These are potentials to strengthen the TNI if the country is in an emergency," said Sjafrie.
Therefore, to strengthen the TNI's cyber defense, the Ministry of Defense cooperates with Singapore, which already has a more mature cyber defense.

This collaboration can be in cyber education or exchanging soldiers for joint training. With this collaboration, Sjafrie believes Indonesia's cyber defense will be stronger.
Previously, Singapore's Military Commander or Singapore Armed Forces Admiral Aaron Beng also met with Sjafrie, Tuesday (22/7).
In the meeting that took place at the Ministry of Defense building, both parties also opened up opportunities for defense cooperation in cyberspace.
