Verification Palace Applicants Participants In The Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony At The Merdeka Palace

JAKARTA - Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, who is currently serving as Chair of the Committee for the Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, said the committee was still verifying data on registrants participating in the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, so he asked the public to be patient.

Prasetyo said that the public interest in registering to take part in the procession of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Merdeka Palace on August 17 exceeded the available quota so that the website.istanapresiden.go.id, which is the place to register, was immediately closed after 2 hours of opening on Monday (4/8).

"First of all, of course I as the Chair of the Committee, and as the person in charge, express my gratitude to the entire community who had yesterday, with very high enthusiasm for registering to get an invitation. Indeed, we also apologize, because the availability of a very limited place, and it turns out that from the data that comes in, the public interest is extraordinary," said Prasetyo Hadi as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 5.

The total quota available for participants of the 80th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence ceremony at the Merdeka Palace on August 17 was 16,000 seats, which was divided into two, namely 8,000 seats for the Commemoration Ceremony of Proclamation Seconds at 10.00 WIB, and 8,000 seats for the Red and White Flag Lowering Ceremony at 17.00 WIB. Of the total quota, 80 percent is allocated to the general public.

"We are processing it from yesterday until today in accordance with the provisions that we are preparing to decide as soon as possible to the people who are entitled to receive an invitation," said Prasetyo Hadi.

"So, today we ask for help to be patient. We have been verifying for 2 days, and God willing, maybe tonight or at the latest tomorrow we will announce it again," he continued.

For people who have registered themselves to the Presidential.go.id website, they can check their registration status through the Presidential Palace Pandang website.

Prasetyo again emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto wanted the quota given to the general public to witness the Commemoration Ceremony of Proclamation Seconds at 10.00 WIB, and the Red and White Flag Lowering Ceremony must be more than in previous years.

"If you use the number, at approximately 80 percent, he (President Prabowo, ed.) wants it to give the public the opportunity to attend the Merdeka Palace in commemoration of the seconds of the Proclamation," said Prasetyo.
