JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the DKI Provincial Government is targeting Jakarta to be included in the top 50 global cities in the world by 2030. Currently, Jakarta is still in 74th place.
To achieve this, Pramono said there are three main aspects that must be strengthened as a foundation to realize these targets, namely transportation and mobility, physical infrastructure and assets, as well as digital infrastructure.
According to Pramono, improving the transportation and mobility system of people in Jakarta is needed as a condition so that Jakarta can advance to class. This was revealed when opening a seminar entitled Realizing Jakarta Top 50 Global Cities through Acceleration of Infrastructure Innovation and Digital Services.
The most important part that must be resolved in Jakarta at this time is how to regulate the mobility of 4 million people every morning and evening. If this can be resolved or at least reduced, then congestion will no longer be a frightening scourge for Jakarta," said Pramono at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday, August 5.
Regarding infrastructure, Pramono appealed that the use of existing assets could be maximized. He said Jakarta already has qualified infrastructure, such as the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), which are managed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro).
In fact, Pramono revealed that the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) wanted to make JIS the headquarters of the Indonesian national team. According to Pramono, this is because currently the DKI Provincial Government in its leadership is paying more attention to the development of JIS infrastructure.
"Right now, JIS is so crowded, everyone then comes to talk about JIS. Even PSSI wants to make JIS its homebase," Pramono explained.
In addition, Pramono also claimed that many parties offered to become JIS managers who are currently still managed by PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) BUMD.
"It's so happening, so the President Director is creative, suddenly the JIS is already willing. 'Yes, I'll just manage it, I'll give you this money'," explained Pramono imitating the words of JIS fans.
Pramono felt that JIS' increasing attraction was seen after he revealed the discourse of building a connecting bridge between JIS and Ancol, adding Transjakarta routes, making JIS a Persija cage, to facilitate other activities at the stadium built by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
"Now everyone feels that JIS is something. This is how we then market JIS into something that is finally being contested," Pramono explained.
