DKI Transportation Agency Prepares Traffic Engineering And Parking Points During RI's 80th Anniversary In Jakarta

Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, revealed that his party is preparing a traffic engineering scheme in Jakarta, especially around the State Palace during the commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

"There must be traffic engineering and it is currently under discussion," Syafrin told reporters, Tuesday, August 5.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is also coordinating with the Indonesian Independence Day committee, the police, and the Paspampres for the smooth running of the series of activities on August 17.

"We continue to coordinate to provide full support for the implementation, both for parking arrangements, as directed," explained Syafrin.

The DKI Transportation Agency, he continued, would alert a number of tow trucks in anticipation of taking action against vehicles parked carelessly during the commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day.

"So that there are no residents who park carelessly at certain points, which are urgent for mobility. Also, we will prepare mobile VMS, so that for people who have no interest in the Free Park or the Palace, they can take alternative routes outside the ring of implementation of the Indonesian Independence Day later," explained Syafrin.

Furthermore, the DKI Provincial Government has also implemented a special tariff of Rp. 80 for all modes of public transportation in the capital city, starting from Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, to LRT Jakarta.

This policy applies on August 17, 2025, for one full day, from 00.00 to 23.59 WIB.

"The Rp80 tariff is a symbol of the spirit of independence as well as an invitation to celebrate the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day in a more sustainable, inclusive, and in favor of the public interest," said Syafrin.
