Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center Abdul Muhari in Jakarta, said that local governments can review the effectiveness of evacuation routes, facilities in evacuation locations, equipment readiness, and logistics.
In addition, BNPB assessed that preparedness training needs to be carried out regularly in order to minimize the risk of damage and casualties due to disasters.
An early tsunami warning in Indonesia was issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) after the 8.7 magnitude earthquake in Kamchatka, Russia, Wednesday, July 30 morning. Then the tsunami early warning was officially announced to end by the BMKG on the same day at 23.00 WIB.
