As Head Of GMNI, Risyad Fahlevi Committed To Carry Out Bung Karno's Trisakti Value

JAKARTA - Chairman (Ketum) of the Indonesian National Student Movement (GMNI) Muhammad Risyad Fahlefi, asked cadres to confirm the values of Bung Karno's Trisakti.

Risyad emphasized that Bung Karno's Trisakti was the basic principle of organizational struggle. For Risyad, Trisakti must be carried out, not just quoted.

"GMNI cadres must confirm Bung Karno's principle of Trisakti. Don't let Trisakti just stop in the concavity," Risyad said in his speech after being elected as General Chair at the XXII Congress at the Merdeka Building, Bandung City, Wednesday, July 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

In the XXII Congress, Risyad together with Patra Dewa were officially elected as General Chair and Secretary General of GMNI for the 2025-2028 period. Both were elected by acclamation in a forum attended by 85 DPD and DPC definitive and 14 caretakers.

Risyad emphasized that the mandate he received was not for individuals or groups, but as a form of readiness for all GMNI cadres in building a progressive and solid organization.

"This victory is not for a person or figure, but shows that all cadres throughout Indonesia are ready for one line to create a more progressive GMNI," he said.

As a first step in uniting the organization, the former President of BEM Universitas Airlangga is committed to embracing all elements who have not been present at the congress. This, continued Risyad, is part of a big vision to form a complete and new GMNI.

"We are committed to embracing the DPC and DPD who have not been able to attend this congress. As Bung Karno's ideological son, we must be infatuated with unity," he said.

The congressional trial, which began on July 15, has experienced several delays. On July 24, the trial was stopped due to an unfavorable situation and plans to resume on July 27 canceled due to death threats against the committee.

After the situation re-conducived, the congress forum continued its agenda with the selection of chairmen for the organization's commission, politics, and regeneration. After that, the forum continued with the discussion of the direction of the organization's dynamical movement.

At its peak, the congress forum unanimously chose Risyad and Patra as General Chair and Secretary General. There was no debate in this election process, which closed with the beating of the acclamation hammer to be greeted by cheers from cadres at the Merdeka Building, Bandung.
