JAKARTA - Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa said all countries were responsible for ending the war, massacres and hunger that had taken place in his country, highlighting the situation in the Gaza Strip.

That was conveyed by PM Mustafa at the UN's top international conference on the Two-State Solution in New York, United States.

"This conference holds promises, a pledge to the Palestinian people, that the historical injustices that befell them must end. What is happening in Gaza is the latest and most brutal manifestation, and we are increasingly motivated to act," he said, launching WAFA July 29.

Prime Minister Mustafa further stressed that this Conference is a message to the Palestinian people "that the world supports our right to life, freedom and dignity; that the world supports us in realizing our rights and our sovereign state," and that this is also a message to the Israeli people, there is a way towards regional peace and integration.

"This will be achieved through our independence, not our destruction; through the embodiment of our rights, not a persistent rejection. That the Palestinian people are not condemned for the occupation and eternal exile, and the Palestinians and Israelis are not destined to eternal war," explained PM Mustafa.

"That there is another way, a better way, that leads to mutual peace, mutual security, and mutual prosperity in our region. Not for one party at the expense of another, but for all," he added.

PM Mustafa thanked Saudi Arabia and France for carrying out the mandate of the UN General Assembly to hold this high-level conference.

He also thanked the Secretary General of the United Nations and all the heads of the working group at the conference. In a press statement last month, a spokesman for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rolliansyah Soemirat, said that Indonesia and Italy chaired one of the working groups from the conference, which discussed specifically the security aspects related to the two countries or regionals in the framework of implementing a two-state solution.

PM Mustafa stressed that the whole world has an obligation and responsibility to uphold the right to self-determination and fair and lasting peace.

He also underlined that all countries have a responsibility to act now to end the war on our people in Gaza, to ensure the release of all hostages and detainees, and to ensure the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces.

He expressed his support for the mediation efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States as well as the actions taken by all countries to achieve these goals, stressing Israeli-made massacres and hunger must end immediately.

"We all have to act to reunite Gaza with the West Bank, including East Jerusalem," said PM Mustafa.

"Without occupation, without siege, without settlements, without forced transfer, and without annexation, as well as rebuilding Gaza together and for our people, ending the occupation, achieving Palestinian independence, and implementing a two-state solution, in which Palestine and Israel coexist peacefully and safely, leading to mutual peace, mutual security, and mutual prosperity in our region," he stressed.

"This requires support for the Palestinian Government in carrying its sole responsibility in the fields of government and security in the Gaza Strip and throughout the occupied Palestinian Territory; and Hamas must end its power over Gaza and hand over its weapons to the Palestinian Authority," he added.

It is known that the latest conflict in Gaza broke out after a Palestinian militant group attacked Israel's southern region on October 7, 2023, leaving 1,200 people dead and another 251 held hostage according to Israeli calculations.

Israel responded to this by blocking, airstrikes and military operations in the Gaza Strip region.

Israel and the Palestinian militant group agreed to a ceasefire as well as exchange of hostages and detainees on January 19. At least 20 of the remaining 50 hostages in Gaza are believed to be still alive. The majority of the initial hostages have been released through diplomatic negotiations, although the Israeli military has also released several hostages.

On March 2, Israel again carried out a total blockade against Gaza on the pretext of pressuring Palestinian militant groups to agree on a ceasefire proposed by the United States and a exchange of hostages. Over the end of the ceasefire agreement, Israel resumed military operations in Gaza on March 18.

As of Sunday, Palestinian deaths in the Gaza Strip since the latest conflict broke out have reached 59,921 people, while 145,233 others have been injured, according to medical sources in Gaza.
