Trump Again Disappointed With Putin, Gives Deadline To Russia

JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump has decided to reduce the 50-day deadline he has given Russia due to the war in Ukraine.

"I am disappointed with President Putin," Trump said, speaking with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer ahead of their meeting in Scotland.

"I will reduce the 50 days I gave him to be shorter because I think I already know the answer to what will happen," he continued.

Trump set a deadline of 50 days earlier this month. President Trump has repeatedly voiced his frustration with Putin for continuing to attack Ukraine despite the US's efforts to end the war.

Trump before returning to the White House asserted himself to be the bearer of peace. He once promised to end the conflict that has been going on for three and a half years within 24 hours.

Trump is threatening new sanctions against Russia and its export-buying countries unless an agreement is reached in early September.

But Trump, who has also expressed his frustration with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has not always followed up on his crackdown on Putin with action, citing what he sees as a well-established relationship.

"We thought we had finished it many times, then President Putin came out and started launching rockets into cities like Kyiv and killing a lot of people in nursing homes or something like that," Trump said.

"And I say it's not the right way," Trump said.
