JAKARTA - Rivers, waterways and reservoirs overflowing across China exacerbated floods and landslides on Monday that killed four people.
Authorities warned of heavier rains and an increased disaster risk in the coming days.

At the elderly care center in Miyun, several people were trapped because the water level reached the roof. The rescue team swam into the building and used ropes to save 48 people.
Photos circulating on the China WeChat app show the Miyun area, where cars and trucks float on flooded roads with such high water levels that some of the residential buildings are submerged.
Power outages also affected more than 10,000 people in the region.
