BOGOR - Minister of Environment (LH) / Head of the Environmental Control Agency Hanif Faisol Nurrofiq has revoked a number of environmental approvals in the Puncak area, Bogor Regency, West Java, which are considered not in accordance with the provisions for the use of space and environmental protection.
He said the revocation was carried out because business actors did not immediately adjust to the demolition orders that had been issued previously. In total there were 33 business units on the operational cooperation ground (KSO) of PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN), and 9 of them had permits but have now been officially revoked by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
"Of the 33 business units, there were 9 who had environmental permits, but we withdrew because there was no follow-up from the Bogor Regency Government as we ordered. So the minister immediately withdrew it," said Hanif in his statement, Sunday, July 27.
Hanif added, in addition to revocation of environmental permits, the ministry also mandated all business units in the PTPN area to demolish the building independently. The deadline given ends at the end of August 2025. If not implemented, the government will carry out forced demolition and take legal action.
"Sanctions will be imposed in accordance with Article 114 of Law Number 32 of 2009, with a penalty of one year in prison. This applies to all business units that do not comply with the provisions," he said.
According to him, some business actors have complied with the rules by dismantling their own buildings. Among them is CV Mega Karya which has started dismantling eight gazebos and one restaurant.
However, for business units that have not started the demolition process, they will go directly to the field visit next week. If we find that there are still those who have not dismantled it, then we ourselves will help dismantle it, as well as the legal process will run," said Hanif.
He explained that after the demolition process was complete, business actors were also required to restore and replant to restore the ecological function of the region.
Furthermore, Hanif said that after controlling 33 business units on KSO's land was completed, KLH would also control 400 hectares of land in the Puncak area which had been used illegally without going through a cooperation scheme with PTPN.
"We will verify the field of hundreds of hectares of controlled land without rights. Both legal and illegal, all those that stand on PTPN's land and do not comply with the rules will be ordered," he said.
KLH considers that the existence of these buildings exacerbates the carrying capacity of the environment in the upstream area of the Ciliwung Watershed (DAS). The impact is also felt directly by people in Bogor, Depok, and Jakarta in the form of annual floods that often carry casualties.

Therefore, the government also appealed to the public and capital owners to stop the construction of villas and new business premises in the Puncak area, especially in Cisarua District.
"We ask anyone who is building a villa in this area to stop this activity. The best investment today is planting trees and protecting the environment," concluded Hanif.
