Deadly Container Truck On Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan Also Hits Motorcyclist At Red Light

The incident of a container truck that hit dozens of vehicles at a traffic light on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulomas, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Friday morning, resulted in one victim being injured.

"There was one victim injured in a series of accidents from a container truck this morning," said Head of Traffic Unit of the Pulogadung Police, AKP Gede Oka at the location, Friday.

The injured victims were motorcyclists who were silent because the traffic light was red. The victim was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital.

"The injured victims were immediately taken to the Cempaka Putih regional hospital," said Oka.

Until now, his party is still waiting for further information from the hospital regarding the condition of the victim.

A container truck is thought to have failed brakes and hit dozens of vehicles at a traffic light on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Pulomas, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Friday morning.

Dozens of these vehicles consist of nine units of four-wheeled vehicles and five units of two-wheeled vehicles.

Oka explained that the incident was triggered when a container vehicle had a failed brake as it approached the red light. Then, the truck swerved to the right.

Traffic conditions were stalled and crowded due to the successive accident. Several officers also regulate traffic so that traffic jams do not spread.
