An-24 Angara Airlines Aircraft Debris Found In Lerang Gunung, Medan Hard To Access

JAKARTA - The Antonov An-24 Angara Airlines plane which lost contact in the Amur Region was found on a mountain slope with a difficult field to reach.

Russian emergency services told RIA Novosti the An-24 plane crashed in the Amur Region and according to preliminary information it was estimated that there were no survivors.

The bodies of the burning aircraft were seen during the search for air on the slopes of the mountain 15 kilometers from Tynda.

There is still a small chance that the survivors are still on land.

"There are terrains that are difficult to access, dense vegetation, and live victims can be found during a search on land," they added, launching RIA Novosti July 24.

The Angara Airlines plane departed from Blagoveshchensk for Tynda at 12:58 and stopped communicating after a round-trip.

Amur Region Governor Vasily Orlov said there were 43 passengers on board, five of whom were children, and six crew members. The weather in the area of the plane's disappearance was bad, and flights were delayed.

Separately, the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation, while the Investigative Committee has opened criminal cases for violating safety regulations.
