BANDUNG - The West Java Provincial Government confirmed that there was no forced expulsion of students with disabilities from the women's dormitory environment at the UPTD Griya Harapan Difabel (PPSGHD) West Java Social Service, Cimahi.

Head of UPTD PPSGHD West Java Social Service, Andina Rahayu, emphasized that there was no act of eviction, but the restructuring of facilities in line with the increasing number of clients/disabled persons who needed social rehabilitation services based on applicable governor regulations.

"Facilities including guesthouse buildings are fully used to support social rehabilitation services. It is not true that there was an eviction. What is being done is spatial planning according to service needs," Andina said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 23.

According to him, the girls' dormitory he called Wisma Singosari, which is now in the spotlight, has been recorded as empty for eight months since 2024, and is only limitedly used by SLBN A Pajajaran (Wyataguna) and his family.

"Along with the increasing number of clients in 2025, we need to optimize all existing facilities, including Wisma Singosari, to meet the needs of living space for social welfare service providers," said Andina.

Adinda did not respond to further clarification about the vacancy of this dormitory, considering that it was informed that there were at least two students with visual disabilities and one dormitory assistant, including having a three-year stay period, as previously reported.

Adinda said the West Java Social Service Office had coordinated with SLBN A Pajajaran on July 15, 2025.

From the results of the meeting, it was agreed that SLBN A students could still live in the UPTD GHD environment, and would interact with other disabled clients.

Their placement will be transferred to Wisma Catelya, which is also in the Cimahi UPTD GHD area.

"There is no prohibition on staying or terminating the education process for SLBN A students. This transfer is solely a spatial arrangement, not expulsion," he said.

Andina also dismissed reports that UPTD GHD was involved in moving students' belongings.

"There were no instructions, coercion, or actions from us in the transfer. The transfer of goods that occurred was not carried out by the UPTD GHD, and was not accompanied by instructions or coercion from us," he said.

The West Java Social Service hopes that there will be no misunderstandings in the community. The West Java Provincial Government is said to remain committed to carrying out the mandate of protection and fulfillment of the rights of persons with disabilities fairly and fairly.

As previously reported, students with disabilities of SLBN A Pajajaran were forcibly expelled from the dormitory at the Griya Harapan Difabel Social Service Center (PPSGHD) of the West Java Social Service, Tuesday (22/7) or the day before the National Children's Day celebration.

The female dormitory guide at PPSGHD West Java Social Service, Anggita Putri, said the forced emptying incident occurred when students were studying at the SLBN A Pajajaran (Wyataguna) school in Bandung.

"I was also at school, suddenly I was called by an employee from PPSGHD, because we lived there. They said that the dormitory had to be vacated immediately, and the final limit is tomorrow, namely today," said Anggita.
