The Witness and Victim Protection Agency asked for an explanation from the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of Brigadier MN alias Nurhadi with 3 suspects.

Deputy Chairperson of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Sri Suparyati said her agency listened to the presentation directly from the head of the NTB Prosecutor's Office and his staff.

"So, this meeting with Kajati NTB as part of coordination and collaboration in the context of uncovering a criminal act that we all know about the case of Brigadier Nurhadi's death," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 23.

During the meeting, there were several things that became the focus of the discussion that could not be separated from the file examination material.

First, regarding the alleged perpetrator of the persecution that resulted in Brigadier Nurhadi's death because of the broken tongue bone, it led to the suspect Misri Puspita Sari (M).

"Then, from the autopsy results, there were injuries, there were strangulations and so on, so the question arose whether this Misri could take action until the victim died instantly?" he said.

He said the meeting with the prosecutor's office was a follow-up to the submission of suspect Misri as a witness to the perpetrator or justice collaborator (JC) in this case.

"So, indeed we received the JC request from Misri. That's what we are trying to coordinate and concentrate on as JC, his position is the witness to the perpetrator, not the main perpetrator who can reveal the true and widest events," he said.

Sri emphasized that this was part of an effort to examine the JC application of suspect Misri according to the rules in Law No. 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to Law No. 13 of 2006 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims.

"So, in Article 28 there it is stated, in this review we have to ask for information from the parties, both from the public prosecutor and investigators, as well as medical records, medical reasons, the JC applicant's traditional record position, we will see to what extent, whether this JC is feasible later," he said.

Sri explained that his arrival with the LPSK team to NTB had just met with the NTB Prosecutor's Office. For the NTB Regional Police as the investigator and the JC applicant, namely Misri, it has not been implemented and is still on the agenda of visiting NTB.

"The applicant has not (meeted). In essence, we in this review are not only LPSK, but the issuance of this JC must go through coordination with the parties, both the prosecutor's office and investigators," he said.

In the review process of the follow-up to the submission of JC suspect Misri, Sri emphasized that LPSK has a time limit to determine whether the JC is approved or not.

"However, it will be able to see the level of difficulty. We can extend the time. Because the submission of JC is not a fast and easy thing, because we have to look further," he said.

Apart from Misri, two other suspects in this case are former NTB Police officer Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama (Kompol Y) and Ipda Haris Chandra (HC). They have now been detained at the NTB Police Ditttahti Detention Center.

The three of them were suspects with alleged violations of Article 351 paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code concerning persecution which resulted in the loss of the lives of others and Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding negligence.

In the development of the handling, the NTB Prosecutor's Office through the research prosecutor has returned the case files of the three suspects to the NTB Police investigators by providing a number of additional instructions.
