The 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), stated that investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya had confiscated two of his diplomas. The confiscation was carried out in relation to the handling of the alleged defamation case he reported.

"Yes, a confiscation has also been carried out," said Jokowi after undergoing an examination at the Surakarta Police, Wednesday, July 23.

Two diplomas confiscated by investigators were the High School (SMA) and Strata 1 Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).

"The investigators confiscated the original diplomas of S1 and SMA," he said.

In addition to confiscation, Jokowi also stated that during the examination process there were several witnesses who were also questioned. Although he did not specify his identity, it was stated that the number was quite large.

"Earlier, together with other witnesses who were also examined, (there were) 11, 10 plus I became 11 (witnesses)," said Jokowi.

Jokowi has finished undergoing an examination as a reporter for the alleged defamation case handled by the Polda Metro Jaya. A total of 45 questions were raised by investigators.

It is known that the process of taking information took place at the Surakarta Police for three hours starting from 10.00 WIB to 13.19 WIB.

"Yes, there were 45 questions by investigators," said Jokowi.

Of the dozens of questions asked by investigators, most of them were just repetitions. It was recorded, said Jokowi, there were only 10 new questions.

"The 35 have been asked last but reviewed, and only 10 have questions," he said.

In handling this case, Polda Metro Jaya has raised the status of the case to the investigation stage. Because, it was found that there was a criminal element.

The decision to increase the status of the case is based on the results of a case conducted by the State Security Sub-Directorate (Kamneg) on Thursday, July 10.
