JAKARTA - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoyan on Tuesday criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for Israel's genocide war in Gaza, saying Netanyahu had "exceeded Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler" with attacks that had killed more than 59,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in nearly 20 months.
"Anyone who remains silent about genocide in Gaza means being involved in crimes against humanity committed by Israel," President Erdoyan said at the opening of the 17th International Defense Industry Exhibition (IDEF 2025) at Istanbul Expo Center, Istanbul, as reported by the Daily Sabah on July 22.
"The suffering of children in Gaza, who live my bones because of hunger because humanitarian aid is not allowed in, is also our suffering," he said.
"No one with dignity can accept this cruelty (in Gaza), where dozens of innocent people die every day due to lack of bread or water," President Erdogan stressed.
He added that Turkey's goal was to reach a ceasefire as soon as possible, adding that allowing humanitarian aid to enter Gaza was another priority.
"In these dark times, when mass deaths from hunger have begun, I call on the entire international community to unite on the human side," President Erdogan said.
