After Pocketing Information From The Head Of BPKH, The KPK Ensures That The Corruption Investigation Of Hajj Implementation Continues

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) confirmed that the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of the Hajj at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) continues even though former Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas has not been questioned.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said investigators had pocketed a lot of information from related parties in this case. One of those who have been questioned in this investigation is the Head of the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) Fadlul Imansyah.

The request for information was carried out on July 8. At that time, Fadlul admitted that he had given an explanation in front of investigators.

"KPK has made a request for information from other parties," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Tuesday, July 22.

Budi did not know about the plan to be summoned or not, Yaqut, in the process of this investigation. However, he said investigators first focused on the information that had been collected.

"However, of course we cannot convey in detail, yes, who are the parties, what the construction is like. Because indeed this case is still being investigated," said Budi.

Meanwhile, Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu indicated that the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of the pilgrimage would enter a new phase. In the near future, a decision will be made.

Previously reported, the KPK continues to investigate allegations of corruption in determining quotas and organizing Hajj at the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) in 2023-2025. Information collection was carried out by summoning a number of parties including Khalid Basalamah, who is the preacher and owner of Uhud Tour.

Asep did not want to talk further about the investigation which was carried out behind closed doors. However, a number of related parties began to be summoned by investigators.

The alleged corruption has been reported several times. The name of former Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas was also dragged into it.
