The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) confiscated four cellphones, two laptops and two boxes containing documents from PT Pelindo Regional II Bengkulu related to the alleged corruption case of coal mines in the area.

The four cellphones belonged to General Manager S. Joko, Daily Executive (Plh) Financial Manager Iwan Santosa, Legal Manager M. Bagus Sentiko D, and Operation Manager of PT Pelindo Regional II Bengkulu Office Dody Nata Irawan.

"Today, the Bengkulu Special Crime Investigation Team has conducted searches in two places related to the handling of criminal acts of coal mining," said Bengkulu Attorney General's Assistant for Supervision Andri Kurniawan in Bengkulu City, Monday, July 21, as reported by Antara.

Head of the Investigation Section of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Danang Prasetyo, explained that the search of the two offices was carried out because they had different roles and were related to cases of alleged corruption in coal mines.

"The role of Pelindo is the port and those who sell using barges through Pelindo, while Sucofindo plays a role in testing coal levels," he said.

He said the searches at the two locations were related to the transport of coal carried out by PT Ratu Samban Mining when selling coal incorrectly.

According to him, the confiscated evidence will be examined and examined first by the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office of Special Investigation Team and if there is a connection with the coal mining corruption case, further investigation will be carried out.

"The question is that the cellphones led by PT Pelindo Regional II Bengkulu are carried out internally and studies from the investigative team and we are still discussing everything, we take them first. But what is clear is that if we contain other crimes, we will follow up, not only this (coal corruption cases)," said Danang.

Previously, investigators from the Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office conducted a search at the Office of PT Pelindo Regional Bengkulu and PTM Sukofindo Bengkulu related to the corruption case of coal mining in the area.

During the search, the investigative team asked Pelindo to cooperate during the search process, but if it was deemed uncooperative, his party would take legal steps in accordance with the applicable law.

"It's okay"

"Convey cooperatively, if you are not cooperative, we will make you a suspect. Because the investigation has forced efforts," said Danang.
