27th Harlah, PKB Promotes Culture As A Pillar Of Development Through "Colakarya"

JAKARTA - This Saturday, the National Awakening Party (PKB) celebrates its 27th anniversary by holding a cultural celebration entitled "Colakarya" or Collaboration Managing Work at the Bloc Post, Central Jakarta.

This cultural-themed activity was held by PKB to encourage the spirit of development so as not to rely solely on the economy and politics, but also through cultural channels.

"The PKB believes that the progress of the nation cannot be separated from cultural power. Culture is the spirit of civilization, even during the new order of totalitarian period, culture became a tool of struggle. In today's reform era, it became the mouthpiece of criticism and the aspirations of the people," said Secretary of the Committee for the 27th Birthday (Harlah) of PKB Abdullah, quoting ANTARA, Saturday, July 19.

Abdullah continued in this event, people and artists can actively interact in various activities, such as cross-medium art workshops, art exhibitions, art performance collaborations, to talk shows.

His party also presents a variety of cultural actors, such as comedians, musicians and several cultural philosophers.

Gus Abduh, Abdullah's nickname, continued that Kolakarya was part of the political party's contribution in giving creation space to artists and cultural observers.

According to him, since the beginning of its establishment, PKB has continued to strive to provide cultural space, including the ecosystem involved, which continues to grow into public voice channels.

"Political parties must not be absent from cultural matters. On the contrary, it must be a safe and productive space for artists to voice public unrest," he said.

In the history of Indonesian politics, continued Gus Abduh, cultural roles have often been the driving force for social change.
