Gibran Nights Visiting People's Schools: When I Was In Their Time They Pasti Kangen Rumah Dan Orang Tua

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka explained the reason he visited the Integrated Sentra People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharso in Solo, Central Java, on Friday, July 18, evening, because he believed the students who lived in the dormitory missed their parents.

Gibran shared that he had also experienced school days that were far from his home and parents. Therefore, on that occasion, Gibran also facilitated students to make video calls with their parents.

"I'm sure this is the night that his parents miss him. So, if I used to be, I'm also the same age as them. After junior high school, then what? School outside alone. Kangen-kangen parents must be right before bedtime," said Gibran giving a statement after traveling around the Integrated Center People's School Prof. Dr. Soeharso in Solo, quoted by Antara, Saturday, July 19.

Gibran also learned that the rules at the People's School are that students are prohibited from bringing their personal cellphones into the dormitory.

Therefore, Gibran, who looked casual wearing a black T-shirt, cargo pants, and matching shoes, came to the People's School with dozens of boxes of donuts to share with the students.

In addition to bringing donuts, Gibran also facilitates students who want to make video calls with their parents to treat homesickness after five days of Introduction to the School Environment (MPLS) at the People's School.

Previously, on the same day, Gibran had reviewed the facilities and followed the activities of students who were enjoying lunch from the government's Free Nutrition Food program.

"This afternoon we were here when the students had lunch. Before going to bed, we came here again. Earlier we brought some snacks. How many days have you been here? Five days. I'm sure this is the night for sure. his parents miss him," said Gibran.

For more than an hour until 21.30 WIB, Gibran toured two male dormitories and two female dormitories, while distributing donuts to them and not forgetting to give students the opportunity to make video calls with their parents.

At night, parents are allowed to come to bring goods if needed by the child while in the dormitory.

However, students are only allowed to meet in the front yard of the school for a moment to meet their parents and take the items that have been brought.
