JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) appreciates the investigation related to allegations of corruption in the procurement of additional food (PMT) programs for toddlers and pregnant women. The entire process was handed over to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"We appreciate and submit the process of investigating the case carried out in accordance with the authority of the KPK," said Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Ministry of Health Aji Muharwan when contacted by VOI, Friday, July 18.

Aji then explained that the alleged corruption that was being investigated occurred in 2016-2020. At that time, Budi Gunadi Sadikin had not yet served as Minister of Health (Menkes).

The Ministry of Health has also supervised PMT programs for toddlers and pregnant women. "And the results have been reported to the KPK for improved governance and compliance with regulations," he said.

"If it is proven that there is a violation of the law, of course, it must follow the process of further legal action," continued Aji.

Previously reported, the KPK confirmed that it was investigating allegations of corruption related to the procurement of additional food (PMT) for toddlers and pregnant women. The process is said to be carried out by the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes).

"The related corruption crime is still being investigated," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

Asep did not want to elaborate on the investigation. This is because this activity is usually closed and only conveyed when it goes up to the investigation stage.

However, based on information collected, the investigation was carried out in early 2024. This alleged corruption was allegedly rolled out in 2016-2020.

The PMT program for toddlers and pregnant women is an effort to improve their nutritional status so as to reduce stunting or tengkes. The form is in the form of biscuits, milk, eggs, and other nutritious foods.
