The KPK Was Not Involved By The Government When DIM RKUHAP Was Discussed

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said his agency was not involved by the government in discussing the Problem Inventory List (DIM) for the Revision of the Law on the Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHAP).

Setyo also did not know that the signing ceremony for the DIM of the Criminal Procedure Code Bill was held at the Ministry of Law last June. In fact, the National Police and the Attorney General's Office were present at that time.

"As far as I know, until the last days, the KPK has not been involved," Setyo told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

In the future, the KPK will communicate directly with the DPR. They will submit input so that RKUHAP can oversee its work in eradicating corruption.

"There must be a plan to be able to convey the ideas, ideas, hopes that exist in the KPK so that the Criminal Procedure Code can really oversee efforts to eradicate corruption to the fullest," said the former Director of Investigation of the KPK.

Previously reported, the KPK has conducted a study related to the revision of the Criminal Procedure Code (RKUHP) internally. As a result, there are 17 points that are considered to be able to interfere with their performance.

"In the development of internal discussions of the KPK, there are at least 17 points that are noted and we are still discussing this and of course later we will also convey the results to the President and DPR as input related to the Draft Criminal Procedure Law," said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 16.
