The DPR's Website Was Down, Secretary General Called There Was A Hacking Effort

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar explained the reason why the official website of the DPR RI is often inaccessible or down. He revealed that the website was deliberately turned off because many attempts were hacked or hacked.

"I think maybe here I am very open and transparent. In short, I need to convey to my friends, this DPR website we partnered with BSSN and Bareskrim Polri who also helped us. So very often, hundreds of times, even thousands of times the DPR website always has attempts to attack them. It was hacked, that's a lot," said Indra Iskandar at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, July 17.

"At the time of hacking, if there are already a lot of graphs at a high level, our choice must be turned off. If it is not turned off, if the attack succeeds in that, it will damage all of our existing systems," he continued.

However, before taking the policy, Indra said, the Secretariat General of the DPR first consulted with competent institutions.

"Usually, those who recommend this please the secretariat general down first because there are too many attacks," he said.

"So what the friends said was true, several times we had to take action to kill because there were so many hackers trying to get in and break through our existing systems," said Indra.

Previously, the DPR website was inaccessible. This was also commented on by the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Habiburokhman by uploading the condition of the site on his personal Instagram page on Wednesday, July 17, at around 18.00 WIB yesterday.

In the photo uploaded by the Gerindra legislator, it can be seen that the DPR website displays the caption "under Maintenance, Page Not Found". While below it there is an additional statement "Found Errors! The URL requested was not found on this server. That's what we know."

Finding this, Habiburokhman then protested to the Secretary General of the DPR, through mentioning the upload. "Yth. Mr. Secretary General @dpr_ri. Please inform you, why the DPR website cannot be accessed? The public really needs to update the discussion of the Criminal Procedure Code Bill. Please fix it immediately, sir. This is very important for the transparency of the work of Commission III," wrote Habiburokhman.
