Russian Air Defense Shoots Fall Ukrainian Drone Heading To Moscow

JAKARTA - Russian air defense units shot down three Ukrainian drones heading for Moscow on Thursday morning, mayor Sergei Sobyanin said via Telegram.

Sobyanin did not mention any casualties or damage, but said specialists were examining drone debris at the site where the drone crashed.

Apart from the capital, Russian air defenses are also taking action in a number of other Russian regions.

Ukrainian drone attacks killed one person and injured six people in the southern Russian city of Belgorod, the governor of the Vyacheslav Gladkov region said.

Governor Gladkov said the six injured victims were hospitalized due to injuries from shrapnel. Six houses were damaged as a result of the attack.

He later reported that another drone had injured a resident of a village in northeastern Belgorod.

Russia's Defense Ministry said Russian air defense units had destroyed 48 Ukrainian drones in a 3.5 hour period ending on Wednesday at 23:30 local time.

Twenty-nine drones were destroyed in the Belgorod region on the Ukrainian border, with 16 other drones destroyed in the Bryansk region, another border region west.

Meanwhile, the governor of the Voronezh region, which is also on the border, said several Ukrainian drones had fallen, while the governor of the Smolence region in western Russia said air defenses had dropped one drone and one person was injured.

Russia and Ukraine accuse each other of targeting civilians, something both sides deny, during the war that has now entered its fourth year.
