Medan Mayor Denies Reactivated Camat And Indisciplinary Village Head

Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Waas denied reactivating the sub-district and village heads who were temporarily disabled for being disciplinary in carrying out their duties.

This was conveyed by the Mayor of Medan in response to information circulating that he had reactivated an official who was temporarily disabled.

"It's not true. Nothing has been reactivated," said Rico Waas as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 16.

He emphasized that the inactive official was undergoing an intensive examination process at the Inspectorate so that the information about his reactivation was very wrong.

The Mayor of Medan has also coordinated with the Acting Inspectorate of Medan City to confirm the status of the inactive official.

"I saw the news. I was said to have reactivated the village heads. I called the Inspector directly. He said the news was not true. Nothing was reactivated," he said.

The mayor emphasized that the officials are still disabled because they are still under investigation.

"No, this is still in the process of being examined. So it is impossible for us to activate it. It is not true if someone is activated," he said.

Previously, officials who were temporarily disabled by the Mayor of Medan for being disciplinary in carrying out their duties were the Medan Polonia sub-district head, Tegal Sari Mandala III village head, and Sari Rejo village head.

The deactivation of the three officials was after the Mayor of Medan Rico Tri Putra Waas carried out a surprise inspection (sidak) at their respective offices.

Rico said the action was carried out as the government's commitment to providing maximum service to the community so that no more employees would do the same thing in the future.

"This firm and uncompromising attitude is solely to realize excellent public services," he said.
