LPSK Says There Has Been No Application For Witness Protection Application In The Aftermath Of The Diplomat Death Case Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Arya Daru

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) has not yet received a request for witness protection regarding the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan (39), the Deputy Diplomat of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu).

"Not yet. There has been no request for protection regarding this case," said Deputy Chairperson of LPSK, Susilaningtias when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Although no one has submitted an application yet, LPSK said that it had coordinated with the police who handled the case.

"We have also coordinated with the local police in Menteng," he said.

His party will inform the public further if there is a request for protection from witnesses regarding the case of the Foreign Ministry Diplomat's death.

"I'll let you know when it's there. But we express our condolences for the death of the foreign ministry diplomat," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit would examine a number of Indonesian Foreign Ministry (Kemlu) employees regarding the death of Arya Daru Pangayunan (39), a Young Diplomat.

"We will summon Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees to be questioned in the case of the investigation of the death of an employee of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs," said Acting Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Central Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Karyono when confirmed, Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

In addition to examining other Ministry of Foreign Affairs employees, the police will also examine the victim's close relatives.

"Resolutions and the families of the victims will also be taken information in the case of the investigation of the death of an employee of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs," he said.

Until now, the police have not been able to conclude whether the victim was killed.

"The results of the autopsy have not yet come out. We cannot conclude the cause of death of the victim," he said.

As is known, Arya Daru Pangayunan (39) Diplomat Muda Ministry of Foreign Affairs was found dead with his face wrapped in yellow duct tape inside the 'Guest House Gondia' indecoth in room 105, Jalan Gondangdia Kecil, No 22, Cikini Village, Menteng District, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (08/07/2025).
