JAKARTA - The Dompet Dhuafa philanthropic Institute invites the Indonesian people to glorify orphans through their flagship programs. In a press conference entitled 'Glory 10,000 Orphans' held at Philanthropy Building, Monday (14/7/2025), Dompet Dhuafa wants to invite everyone to increase public awareness and participation in supporting the future of orphans in Indonesia.

The press conference was attended by the Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation of Republika Ahmad Juwaini, Director of Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa Etika Setiawanti, Child Psychologist Sis Seto Mulyadi, GM Gramedia Regional D Elizabeth Driemirda, and GM Collection of ZIS Dompet Dhuafa Ahmad Faqih.

Ahmad Juwaini highlighted the vulnerability of orphans in Indonesia. According to him, Indonesia should have special attention for orphans. Data from the Ministry of Social Affairs in 2022 shows that there are approximately four million orphans who are demanding serious attention.

Dompet Dhuafa is committed to helping orphans through various programs since this organization was founded. There are educational programs, Indonesian orphans, Yatim Preneur, and Edutrip gifts. In the future these programs must be strengthened so that they become sustainable and sustainable programs.

"We all have to pay attention to orphans. If there is not enough treatment, they will become a generation that is experiencing difficulties in their lives. Helping orphans is very liked by Dompet Dhuafa donors. Donants are very happy and this is good because Dompet Dhuafa really maintains the mandate of the donors," said Ahmad Juwaini.

Meanwhile, Child Psychologist Seto Mulyadi emphasized the importance of the role of all parties in protecting and supporting orphans. " Orphans need love, appreciation, and a conducive environment to develop. All smart children, with the right support, can achieve their best potential. A negative stigma must be eliminated, and they must be encouraged to build confidence," said Kak Seto, his nickname.

Director of Mobility of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation of Republika, Ethics Setiawanti, explained that Dompet Dhuafa targets to reach 10,000 orphans and poor people throughout Indonesia. He invites the public to actively participate in the 'Glory of Orphans' campaign. According to him, there are many ways that people can do to contribute to helping orphans.

It can be done either through donations, zakat, infaq, or collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of orphans increased significantly, public concern was needed to help them, "explained Ethics.

Collaboration with various parties is the main focus. Dhuafa's wallet, in this case, also collaborates with Gramedia. The 'Glory Orphans' campaign will take place from the end of June to September 2025, coinciding with the 32nd anniversary of Dompet Dhuafa.

GM Gramedia Regional D Elizabeth Driemirda stated Gramedia's commitment to educating the nation's life through book and reading access. We invite Gramedia customers to donate and cooperate with Dhuafa Wallet so that donations get to the right hands. Our target is to raise funds to buy study packages for orphans," said Elizabeth.

Elizabeth revealed that Gramedia customers were invited to donate and do Al Quran waqf. By the end of July 2025, there were 9,500 participants who took part until finally the funds were collected to buy study packages donated through Dompet Dhuafa.

This collaboration took place last month of Ramadan. Gramedia with Dompet Dhuafa collaborated in the distribution program of Mushaf Al-Quran which is a donation from Gramedia customers. Then the momentum of Kurban, Gramedia again collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa, namely by inviting meat alms customers through Gramedia cashiers (Region D), "said Ahmad Faqih, as GM Collection of ZIS Dompet Dhuafa.
