KemenP2MI Tagih Kemnaker Soal Kebutuhan 100 Ribu Penempatan Pekerja Migran

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KemenP2MI) collects the Ministry of Manpower's (Kemnaker) commitment to prepare 100 thousand trained workers for placement abroad or working as migrant workers.

The statement was made by the Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding at the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the KP2MI and the Ministry of Manpower in Jakarta, Monday.

"We ask for his help (Minister of Manpower) to participate in preparing, training at least our targets together can actually be 100 thousand prospective workers who will leave the country, specially trained by the Ministry of Manpower," said Minister Karding, confiscated by Antara.

Minister Karding explained that the demand for workers from Indonesia abroad reaches 400,000 people per year. However, currently, his ministry is only able to provide around 150 thousand workers, so there is a vacancy that needs to be filled immediately with trained talents from the Ministry of Manpower.

Through the Job Training Center (BLK) and the resources owned by the Ministry of Manpower, Minister Karding believes that efforts to prepare labor with the competence and quality of human resources (HR) in accordance with the needs of the labor market and the business world can be met.

Today it (needs) around 400 thousand, just departed around 150,000 so there are still around 250,000. Why? Our problem is that we are a bit slow because we choose skills, don't just play and go while this skill takes 3 months to 6 months of language and technical skills," he said.

Responding to the request of workers for foreign placement, the Minister of Manpower Yassierli said that his party saw the fulfillment of the needs of workers abroad as an opportunity, not limited to meeting domestic needs.

Therefore, the Ministry of Manpower will first map out what skills and language skills are needed abroad. After that, technical training and recruitment locations will be designed.

"This has actually been a meeting for the umpteenth time. The Ministry of P2MI is also still managing related assets and I said earlier that we are ready to help because this is our common homework to provide solutions to the community," said Minister Yassierli on the same occasion.
