JAKARTA - A thug equipped with a sharp weapon carried out an act against a truck driver on Jalan Bekasi Timur KM 21, before the red light Pulo Gadung-Cakung, Rawa Terate Village, Cakung District.

The incident was recorded by the residents' amateur cameras when the perpetrators were carrying out acts of thuggery with the mode of burglary against truck drivers.

According to the victim's confession, the truck driver with the initials MN, the incident occurred when he was stopped by his vehicle due to traffic jams on the track.

Suddenly the perpetrator came to ask MN for money. However, the victim refused and did not give the money requested by the perpetrator.

However, the perpetrator immediately took out the cutter knife he was carrying and threatened the victim. Even though he was threatened, the victim continued to drive his car away from the perpetrator who was still at the location.

Meanwhile, the residents' amateur recordings were uploaded to social media and went viral. Responding to the incident, the Cakung Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately launched an investigation.

"The Cakung Police Criminal Investigation Team is conducting an investigation and has succeeded in arresting the perpetrator. The perpetrator has the initials MS," said Cakung Police Chief, Kompol Widodo, Sunday, July 6.

The perpetrator with the initials MS was arrested at a shop near Traffic Light (red light) in the Pupar Cakung area, East Jakarta.

"The perpetrator MS was arrested at his hangout without a fight," he said.

Furthermore, the perpetrators along with the evidence were brought to the Cakung Police for further investigation.
