JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran is actively fighting for its right to receive compensation for the damage caused by recent US and Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic.

AragCHI delivered the statement in a telephone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzayan.

Reported by ANTARA from IRNA-OANA, Wednesday, July 2, the two discussed Tehran-Yerevan relations and regional developments following military aggression by the US and Israel.

Iran's foreign minister said the international community and the United Nations (UN) have a responsibility to hold the US and Israel accountable for violations of Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as all international regulations and laws.

"Iran's Islamic Republic is seriously fighting for its right to gain recognition of the aggressor and seek compensation in international organizations," he continued.

Mirzoyan, once again, condemned the US-Israeli aggression, saying that Armenia welcomes the end of hostilities that will defuse the situation in the region.

Israel launched aggression against Iran on June 13, killing top military officials and nuclear scientists in targeted attacks.

The Zionist regime has also attacked homes and other civilian buildings, killing more than 900 people, including women and children, in the 12 days of war imposed on the Islamic Republic.

Washington joined the war on June 22 when bombing three major Iranian nuclear sites, namely Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz, which were directly seen in the conflict.

The Iranian military responded strongly to the US-Israeli aggression, attacking important areas throughout Israel's occupied territory and causing heavy damage there. The aggression ended after a ceasefire was announced on June 24.
