BANDUNG - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) or AP II opens flight routes from Husein Sastranegara International Airport in Bandung City, West Java, to Adi Sutjipto International Airport in Yogyakarta for airline Susi Air.
Executive General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II Husein Sastranegara Airport Indra Crisna Seputra said the opening of the Bandung-Yogyakarta route was an effort by Husein Sastranegara Airport to continue to support tourism in West Java.
"This proves that there is still confidence from airlines to fly from and to Husein Airport. We from the operator ensure that all facilities, both security, safety, and services, remain in accordance with applicable regulations," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 2.
According to Indra, all airport infrastructure is still ready to serve if in the future there are regulations that will reopen flights using jet planes from the airport.
"And whenever we are ready, if it is necessary to return to the jet plane again, of course, everything is still ready," he said.
Susi Air starts Wednesday (2/7), serving flights on the Bandung-Yogyakarta route three times a week, namely every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
The plane departed from Yogyakarta Sucipto Airport at 12.00 WIB and from Husein Sastranegara Airport at 14.00 WIB. Meanwhile, the ticket price for the route is set at IDR 1,750,000 per passenger.

Meanwhile, Bandung Mayor Farhan said Susi Air's flight was the first step to revive regular flight activities at Husein Sastranegara International Airport.
This is a strategic reactivation. The presence of passengers is gradually expected to provoke requests for flights by wide-body aircraft, such as the Airbus A320 or Boeing 737," said Farhan.
Farhan said they would explore the opening of additional routes with a maximum flight distance of 1.5 hours.
"Probably, my suggestion is that maybe one more trip to the Central Java area or to the Sumatra area," he said.
