Saying Happy Islamic New Year, Prabowo Invites To Strengthen Peace

JAKARTA - On the sidelines of a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister (PM) of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, President Prabowo Subianto congratulated the Islamic New Year to all Muslims in the country and the world.

In his official statement, at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday, the President expressed his hope that the new year 1 Muharram 1447 Hijriyah would be a momentum to strengthen the spirit, hope, and steps towards a more peaceful world.

"First of all, to all Muslims, I congratulate you on celebrating the Islamic New Year, 1 Muharam 1447 Hijriyah. May Allah SWT, God Almighty, always bless every step and hope of us," he said, starting a statement with PM Anwar, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 27.

This statement was also strengthened by visual uploads on official social media accounts, featuring a magnificent illustration of a Middle Eastern-style mosque with orange and purplish blue sky backgrounds.

"Happy Islamic New Year, 1 Muharam 1447 Hijriah New Year, new determination, for a peaceful world," reads a message uploaded to the Instagram account @prabowo.gibran2.

The upload was also accompanied by religious music "Yes, Prophet Salam Alayka" by Maher Zain, in order to welcome the turn of the Islamic calendar year.

The upload also emphasized the importance of making the Islamic new year a starting point for updating intention and determination for the common good, as well as strengthening Islamic values in the life of a peaceful and harmonious nation.
