JAKARTA - The Health Office (Dinkes) of Bogor Regency, West Java, noted that as many as 30 people were declared HIV reactive based on the results of an initial screening test conducted after the raid on a same-sex party in the Puncak area, Bogor Regency.
Head of the Bogor District Health Office, dr. Fusia Meidiawaty said of the 75 people who underwent examination, 30 of them showed reactive results, while the other 45 were non-reactive.
"The results of screening show that 30 people are reactive. It should be underlined that reactive is not necessarily positive. That is only the initial stage. Further examination will be carried out by the puskesmas to determine whether the person concerned has HIV or not," said Fusia as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 24.
He explained that the inspection was carried out as an early detection effort. His party will also follow up by ensuring that reactive participants receive confirmation checks.
Of the 75 people examined, according to him, about 10 percent were residents of Bogor Regency. While the rest came from outside the region.
"For those who are not residents of Bogor, we will coordinate with the health office in their respective areas of origin," he said.
