JAKARTA - Personnel from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) evacuated fallen trees on Jalan Dukuh IV, RT 06/01, Dukuh, Kramat Jati, due to heavy rains, on Monday morning.

"We received a report and immediately evacuated a fallen tree on Jalan Dukuh IV," said Head of the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Muchtar Zakaria when confirmed in Jakarta, Monday, June 23.

Muchtar said the tree was a Chinese Petai type about five meters high with a diameter of 25 centimeters (cm).

East Jakarta Gulkarmat officers evacuated after receiving reports of a fallen tree during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds at 00.30 WIB.

"We received reports from residents, tree trunks to cover roads so that they needed to be evacuated immediately," said Muchtar.

A total of five East Jakarta Gulkarmat personnel with supporting equipment were deployed to the location to carry out the handling.

"The evacuation process started at 00.40 WIB and was completed at 01.50 WIB. Thank you to the residents who immediately reported so that we can handle it quickly," said Muchtar.

Meanwhile, a local resident of Fairul Amrih (39) said that before the tree fell, it was already tenuous or oblique.

So, at night there was heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, this tree immediately fell and covered the road.

"I immediately reported to Gulkarmat officers via call center 112. We thank and appreciate the fallen tree and it was immediately handled quickly until it was completed," Fairul said.
