BMKG Predicts Light Rain In Aceh, Padang, Pekanbaru

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the weather in most areas in Indonesia has the potential to rain with light intensity on Sunday.

"We started from Sumatra Island, the weather is predicted to be cloudy in Tanjung Pinang. It is thick cloudy in Banda Aceh, Padang, and, Pekanbaru, as well as light rain in Medan City," said Prakirawan Andika Hapsari as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, June 22.

Meanwhile, BMKG predicts light rain will occur in Jambi, Palembang, and Pangkal Pinang cities.

Rain with moderate intensity, he continued, is predicted to occur in Bengkulu City. For Bandar Lampung, the weather is predicted to rain accompanied by lightning.

"We are turning to Java Island. Light rain is forecasted in the cities of Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya," said Andikahasari.

He said rain with moderate intensity is forecast to fall in the cities of Jakarta and Serang today.

"Departing to Bali and Nusa Tenggara, cloudy weather is predicted in Kupang City and Mataram City," he said.

Light rain, he continued, is also predicted to flush Denpasar City.

Furthermore, for Kalimantan Island, he said, the weather for running away is predicted in Pontianak City. Then light rain has the potential to occur in Palangka Raya City. The public is asked to be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning in several cities, namely Tanjung Selor, Samarinda, and Banjarmasin.

Then for Sulawesi Island, the weather is predicted to be cloudy in Makassar City and Manado.

Light rain, he said, is predicted to fall in the cities of Mamuju, Palu, Gorontalo, and Kendari.

For eastern Indonesia, continued Andik Ahapsari, thick cloudy weather is predicted in the city of Manokwari. Light rain has the potential to flush Ternate, Ambon, Sorong, Nabire, and Jayapura cities.

Meanwhile, BMKG predicts rain with moderate intensity in Jayawijaya and Merauke on Sunday.
