President Putin And President Prabowo Emphasize The Importance Of Global Collaboration And Peace

JAKARTA - President Vladimir Putin and President Prabowo Subianto agree with the same international perspective between Russia and Indonesia, when the two gave a joint press statement after a bilateral meeting in the context of a state visit to St. Petersburg, Russia, Thursday.

The current situation both at the regional and global levels is one of the topics discussed in this bilateral meeting.

"Of course today we discussed the main global issue. We recorded that Russia and Indonesia's position on global and regional issues is almost the same," said President Putin, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Friday, June 20.

"The two countries defend the principles of sovereignty in the international arena," said President Putin.

President Putin said Indonesia and Russia support efforts to create a peaceful, united and sustainable Pacific Asia region.

He added the importance of coordination built by the two countries in various international forums, including the United Nations and other global platforms.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo said the two countries had many of the same international views, promoting peace and collaboration.

"Indonesia and Russia have many of the same views in the international field," said President Prabowo.

"We respect the sovereignty of every country, want all problems to be resolved peacefully," continued the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

"And we always want to prioritize collaboration over conflict," said President Prabowo.

It is known that President Prabowo is on a state visit to St. Petersburg, Russia. In addition to a bilateral meeting with President Putin, President Prabowo previously made a pilgrimage and placed a wreath at the Piskarovskoye Memorial Cemetery, St. Petersburg.

Today, President Prabowo is scheduled to make a speech at the opening session and plenary session of the 2025 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) with President Putin.
