JAKARTA - President Donald Trump rebuked French President Emmanuel Macron when he left Canada on Monday evening local time.

Trump said Macron had mistakenly said he was returning to Washington sooner to seek an Iran-Israel "Article".

"President Emmanuel Macron, from France, who is seeking publicity, mistakenly said that I left the G7 summit, in Canada, to return to DC to seek a 'firefire' between Israel and Iran. "Salah!" Trump wrote on Truth Social reported by CNN, Tuesday, June 17.

"He doesn't know why I'm now on my way to Washington, but it's clearly nothing to do with the ceasefire," he continued.

"It's much bigger than that. Whether on purpose or not, Emmanuel is always wrong," Trump quipped.

Earlier, Macron said Trump had made an offer of a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.

"There have been offers that have been submitted, especially to carry out a ceasefire and start broader discussions," Macron told reporters at the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada.

"If the United States can reach a ceasefire, it is a very good thing and France will support it and we want it," Macron continued.
