Vice President Gibran Reviews Tabalong People's Market In East Kalimantan, Cancels Official Heavy Equipment Workshop

TABALONG - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited the Batung Tabalong Market, South Kalimantan (Kalsel), Sunday, June 15.

The arrival of the eldest son of the seventh President Joko Widodo was greeted enthusiastically by a number of traders and visitors to the People's Market.

This visit to Pasar Rakyat is a series of activities of Vice President Gibran and his age group visiting Muara Kate Hamlet, Muara Komam District, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim).

Vice President Gibran accompanied by Tabalong Regent H Muhammad Noor Rifani had a dialogue with a number of traders at the Tabalong People's Market.

Previously, the seventh President Joko Widodo visited the Tabalong People's Market along with the inauguration of Jalan Nan Sarunai on March 17, 2023.

Arriving at around 08.00 WITA, the presence of Vice President Gibran received strict escort from the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres) assisted by the TNI and Polri ranks.

After visiting the market, the Vice President is scheduled to fly to Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru via Warukin Tabalong Airport at around 10.00 WITA.

However, Deputy Gibran canceled the heavy equipment workshop on Jalan Nan Sarunai, Murung Pudak District because he had to return to Jakarta after a visit to the local People's Market.

Secretary of the Tabalong Regency Manpower Office Hadi Ismanto said the new cancellation was received from the Tabalong Regency Government protocol section even though all participants and officials were present at the event location.

"A few days earlier, the Vice President had scheduled the inauguration of a workshop along with a visit to Tabalong," said Hadi.

The training participants who were present at the event location were also disappointed because the Vice President canceled his visit to the training location belonging to the Tabalong Regency Manpower Office (Disnaker).

"Since 07.00 WITA, we have been at the workshop location and the distance from the house is quite far," said Lilis from Kembang Kuning Village, Haruai District.

Heavy equipment workshops will be operated soon because they are equipped with heavy equipment ranging from dump trucks for grades 10 to 12 tons, wheelloaders for 3.5 to 5 cubic capacities, forklifts to 20 tons class excavators.

"The procurement of heavy equipment uses APBD Revised 2024 funds and this year funds for other supporting facilities and infrastructure are allocated," explained Hadi.

Currently, the Tabalong District Manpower Office has coordinated with PT PLN UP3 Barabai regarding the installation of electricity networks in workshops built by the Tabalong Regency PUPR Office.

Abdul Hadi believes that the presence of this heavy equipment workshop can increase the absorption of local workers in companies operating in Bumi Saraba Kawa.
