A total of 11 pilgrims from East Java who had just arrived at the Surabaya Debarkation Hajj Dormitory were suspected of being exposed to Covid-19. This allegation emerged based on the results of monitoring body temperature through the thermal scanner and data from the One Healthy Health Pass (SSHP) application, Saturday, June 14.

The congregation came from Kediri, Trenggalek, and Tulungagung. They are part of the first five flying groups (cluters) to arrive after carrying out the pilgrimage in the holy land.

The Surabaya Debarkation PPIH Health Officer, Dr. Rofiud Darojat, explained that the screening process was carried out strictly using various methods.

"Of the 5 groups that have arrived, we carry out a screening process using several methods, including through thermal scanners to the SSHP application. If there is a high temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius and a problematic respiratory tract, swabs will be carried out. Meanwhile, the method is to use a covid antigen swab, then add a swab to be sent to the laboratory which will then be continued with PCR with indicators examined by covid and influenza," said Dr. Rofiud.

Although the results of the antigen test show negative, the final results are still waiting for confirmation from the PCR examination which is currently being processed by the Surabaya Quarantine Center (BBKK). The results are expected to come out in the next few days.

As an anticipatory step, PPIH Debarkasi Surabaya has given notifications to Health Offices in districts/cities from the congregation indicated to carry out further monitoring.
