JAMBI - Bungo Police officers raided the location of the gold mining without a permit (Peti) around the Muaro Bungo Airport area, Sungai Buluh Hamlet, Pasar Muaro Bungo District, Bungo Regency, Jambi Province.

Bungo Police Chief AKBP Natalena Eko Cahyono said the raid was carried out as a form of prevention of destruction and theft of natural products carried out by irresponsible people.

"We did a raid, because their activities have greatly damaged nature, especially in the vital object area, Muaro Bungo Airport," said Eko, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, June 13.

Natalena said that during the raid, the police failed to arrest the perpetrators of illegal gold mining, because they managed to escape into the forest. Officers only found a few pieces of evidence in the form of the equipment used by the perpetrators, including three motorbikes.

Not only that, the Police Chief explained that the Peti zero program would later start from the Muaro Bungo Airport area, to comb to other locations in the district.

His party will routinely conduct raids on illegal activities that can damage the surrounding nature, and summon land owners who are used as locations for illegal mining activities.

The police chief emphasized that he would not tolerate the perpetrators if they were caught red-handed while carrying out illegal gold mining activities, because it was very damaging to the natural ecosystem.

"Later, the zero PETI program will start from this airport area, clean from here to all Bungo regencies," said AKBP Natalena.
